What's changing
From 1 October 2026, if you link more than one account from the same platform (for example, two Instagram accounts), each one must be entirely different in nature. Backup accounts, duplicate accounts and accounts that post the same type of content can no longer be linked on the same platform.
You can still link more than one account per platform, as long as each one is its own distinct account with its own content and purpose.
✅ What's allowed
Accounts with completely different content and purpose on the same platform. For example, you have a lifestyle account on Instagram about your day-to-day life, and a separate Instagram account dedicated to your dog. These are two different accounts, so both can stay linked.
The same account on different platforms. For example, your lifestyle account on Instagram and your lifestyle account on TikTok. Linking the same account across different platforms is absolutely fine.
❌ What's not allowed on the same platform
A backup account, meaning a second copy of an account you already have linked
Identical or near-identical accounts, meaning two accounts posting the same or very similar content
Accounts of the same nature, such as two lifestyle accounts, even if the posts themselves are different
What happens to accounts that don't meet the rule
From 1 October 2026, any backup, identical or same-nature accounts on the same platform:
will not be able to earn rewards
will need to be unlinked and deleted from your Social Tip account
What you should do now
Before 1 October 2026, check the Accounts page in the Social Tip app and review everything you have linked. If any accounts on the same platform are backups, duplicates or the same type of account, please unlink them. Here's how: Linking or unlinking your social media accounts.
